Major Job Elements
Develops financial reports to determine forecasts, trends and results analysis. Records, classifies and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Interprets financial transactions and events for economic and business decision makers.
Analyses financial data and extracts and clarifies relevant information.
Reporting - maintain routine, standardized reports; revise and reconcile reports to reflect accounting changes, new accounts, reorganizations, etc.
Cost/Variance analysis - variance analysis focused on explaining actual costs before, during, and after closing
Research vendor statements, discrepancies, inquiries; document resolution and/or process invoice adjustments
Process receivers, debit and credit memos as needed using GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices)
Provide support to the senior accounting staff on an as needed basis on a variety of tasks and projects
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a Business field and experience in the Financial Industry.
0-2 years of experience (internship OK).
Understanding of general accounting principles as they apply to the industry.
Understanding of general process controls, with knowledge of database, spreadsheet applications, and data modelling, including Microsoft Excel, Access and other Office applications.
Superior Communication Skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work independently well within a team environment.
Excellent Time Management, Interpersonal, and Problem-Solving Skills. - Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively to meet tight and enforced Operational and annual deadlines for the firm.
Attention to detail and quality of work. - Ability to consistently exercise sound and decisive judgment. - Commitment to personal development.
